Bas.: Cleistes rosea Lindl., Gen. Sp. Orchid. Pl. 410. 1840.

TYPE: Hab. in Guayana. Found at the Savannahs adjacent to the lake Capooey, Arabisee Coast of Essequibo, Schomburgk s.n. (holotype, K; record of type, AMES).
